Earlier this year I had the pleasure of spending a day with a huge group of creative people. Belle By Joelle had pulled together some of the best wedding vendors in the area… and me, someone who doesn’t do any wedding work. When she had mentioned it to me, I immediately wanted to to be a part of it. I thought that this would be a fun opportunity to work with a large team to bring together all the elements of a wedding and, in the end, we decided to shoot it a little bit more editorial.

I’ve been meaning to share these images for quite a while now. I had the pleasure of working with the extremely talented musician Tyler Hache some time ago. We shot some images for his album cover (which was designed by Skylar Richard), buy the album here, and also for promo. I’ve said it a thousand times, but I absolutely LOVE working with musicians. The creative energy they bring to shoots is so great! Tyler’s sound is incredible so do yourself a favour and go check out his music. More photos follow below.

I always love shooting fitness. The work these people put in to get their bodies ready for competition is nothing short of amazing. Being trusted to take images that reflect all that hard work is always an honour. Hair on Jess was done by: Melissa Duguay.

I met Jean and Kelley after the agency I co-own with my wife signed their daughter. They are 2 of the most wonderful people I have ever met, very supportive of their daughter and are always very interested in learning more about photography and the modelling world. So when they emailed me to say they would be attending quite a fancy gala and would like to get some photos done how could I resist?! They said it had been years since they had gotten photos done and thought this was the perfect time to do it. They hired the fabulous Vicky Mina to do Kelley’s makeup and we did all the photos in the hotel they were staying at. I had an absolute blast working with them that day! Read on for more images!

Cheryl and Sam… A mother daughter shoot

Sam messaged me in early December to plan a shoot she wanted to give her mom for Christmas. She wanted to do a bit more of a fashion style mother/daughter shoot, and I was pretty excited to shoot it! I have known Sam and Cheryl for quite a long time. My younger brother and Sam’s brother have known each other since they were in grade 1 and played basketball together all the way through the end of high school. Having known them for so long, roughly 20 years, made this extra special for me. We picked 3 different looks for each of them after they arrived having their makeup done by Bonnie Dilag and they then had their hair done by Melissa Duguay. We had such a wonderful day and I really hope I get to do more shoots like this down the road! Scroll on for the rest of the images.

This is a set of images from a shoot I did in Toronto with Ariel of Peggi Lepage and Plutino Models. We had been talking for the better part of 2yrs about shooting together, unfortunately our schedules just never seemed to work out… but on my last trip they finally did! I was lent some beautiful lingerie from Carrie at With Love Lingerie and was fortunate to have the amazing Shawnna Downing for makeup and hair. Ariel is a real pro and is so much fun to shoot with. These are images from a beauty shoot with the absolutely awesome Aza of Elite Toronto! I was in Toronto a little while back and wanted to shoot some beauty and Elite sent me this awesome face. Aza was such a pleasure to work with, she killed it with all the expressions I was looking to shoot. I didn’t want the traditional beauty posing/expressions, I wanted her to be more expressive and she nailed it! Makeup and hair was done by Shawnna Downing, who is one of the most amazing people I have ever met. Her energy and enthusiasm on set is un-paralled. Brooke… In The Studio…

This is a set of images shot in the studio with the wonderful model Brooke of Scout Development Agency. I had been wanting to try hard light for quite some time and decided to go for it on this shoot. All these images were shot with one light and no modifier on the light, just bare bulb. I absolutely love the way the light pops the contrast and accentuates the highlights and shadows. Read on for more images!

Robyn… A Fitness Shoot

I have worked with Robyn MANY times in the past. She is one of the easiest people to work with and one of the sweetest people you’ll ever meet. I remember when I saw she was starting to get into competition for fitness and I knew she would do well. She is the type of person who pretty well excels at anything she does. Whether it be modelling, dancing, signing, she works her ass off at everything she does and the results show. She has only been competing a short time but has already placed 1st in a competition and 2nd in another! We chatted about her coming to see me for some photos for a while and I was excited to get more fitness work into my portfolio. I learned a lot about fitness modelling and posing on this shoot and we shot 3 different looks along with the fabulous makeup artist Belle by Joelle. Alexandre of Scout Development Agency had been working his ass off with his fitness and so we wanted to do some images to showcase that. This is a set of images shot in the studio with Ashley a little while back. I wanted to accentuate her hair and freckles so we kept the wardrobe neutral and I wanted to use the greenish background to compliment those features. She also brought an awesome bodysuit to the shoot which I couldn’t resist shoot with my zebra mask… Makeup was done by the always amazing Belle by Joelle! Ashley was a real pleasure to work with!
